In this article, Taco Brandsen and I discuss, based on empirical findings, whether hybridity does indeed pose major risks.

The risks of hybrid organizations

Hybrid organizations are often criticized for posing risks for public service provision. Most of the evidence for this is anecdotal, however or based in normative ideas and beliefs. In this paper, which Taco Brandsen and I have written for the 2009 NISPACEE conference we examine the findings of several research programmes, to find out whether hybrid organizations also pose such risks in practice.
