Hybrid organizations have to be effective boundary spanners to be able to function. In this article I describe how three organizations tried to play this role.

Boundary spanning in practice

In order to be able to function in heterogeneous settings, hybrid organizations have to be effective boundary spanners. In this paper, which I presented at the 2009 Knowledge Democracy Conference, I examine how they do this by describing the boundary spanning practices of three organizations.
